This can vary from person to person depending on several factors such as wear and tear, change in the shape of your mouth and gums and oral health. It is recommeded to have your dentures and gums regularly checked.
Cleaning your dentures regularly is essential to maintain their appearance and prevent the build-up of bacteria and plaque. After removing, rinse your dentures thoroughly with warm running water. With a soft bristle brush and mild soap brush all surfaces, including teeth, gums, and the roof of your mouth. Soak your dentures in a denture cleanser for the recommended time on the package. Store your dentures in a clean, dry container. Don't forget to clean your mouth also, brushing your gums, tongue and the roof of your mouth.
It is generally not recommended to wear dentures overnight, as it can cause various problems such as gum irritation, fungal infections, and bone loss. Wearing dentures for extended periods of time can also cause discomfort, as the gums and bone need time to rest and recover from the pressure of the dentures.
Yes, dentures can be repaired if they break or become damaged. The type and extent of the damage will determine the best course of action for repair. Dentures don't have to be remade if they have been dropped and broken, a simple repair can do the trick. However, if the dentures have broken while you are eating, further investigation needs to be made as this can be a result of ill-fitting dentures. Either way, we can help!.
